Happy Maternity Fashion - The Kimono
It can be pretty hard to feel stylish and comfortable when you're pregnant - especially in the last trimester. It's also not always financially possible to pregnancy proof your wardrobe; who can afford new jeans, tops, jumpers, dresses and coats that they are realistically only going to wear for about 6 months?
The Happy Maternity Fashion series will feature items of clothing that will fit into your wardrobe before, during and after your pregnancy. First up, Kimonos.
The kimono is a fantastic piece for the maternity wardrobe. It can be thrown on over jeans and a t-shirt and instantly your outfit looks a little more pulled together. It can also be a fantastic way to inject a little colour and pattern into your wardrobe - when I was pregnant I found myself wearing a lot of black, white and grey and by the end I was BORED. Finally, the kimono's flowing fit and forgiving fabric means that in the early days of pregnancy or motherhood, when you're feeling a bit squidgey and not entirely yourself, you can cover the bits you aren't feeling super confident about.
